Last week, June 10th, Kenyon's youngest sister, Ashlee, delivered a beautiful baby boy. She quickly nicknamed him her little peanut and since his name is Max Milton it makes him a "little peanut m&m!" Ashlee is single and made the choice several months ago to give Max to a home where he could have a mother and father. She chose an amazing couple from Ogden, Utah. Throughout her pregnancy Ashlee has impressed us with her personal growth and constant concern for Max's well being. We are so proud of her for the choice she made. Ashlee chose to have an open adoption, so all last week we were all able to hold Max, feed him and love him. He has a cleft lip which makes him that much more special because we know his spirit is perfect. He was so content to be passed around. I never heard him cry.

We spent the week getting to know Max's adoptive parents, Jared and Amanda, and their family. Max is very blessed to have them as parents. Thursday night was Ashlee's last night in the hospital and she asked Kenyon to give her a blessing. Kenyon gave her the sweetest blessing of comfort and reminded her how much Heavenly Father loved her and knew the difficulty of the choice she had made. There was such a peaceful spirit in the room...and not a single dry eye.

On Friday Ashlee let me be in the room along with Jan, Teressa, Emily and Aly when she handed Max to Jared and Amanda. It was by far the most self-less act I've ever seen. My heart broke for Ashlee at the same time it rejoiced for Jared and Amanda. I still cry when I talk about it. I know our family will miss Max, but the beautiful part of the gospel is knowing we will all be an eternal family and my kids will know their little cousin Max.
