Willow had to hunt for her ringing cell phone, but the look on her face makes it plain to see she loved it.

Weston's finished product! Christmas morning was supposed to begin at 7 a.m. After going to bed at 2 a.m. I was awakened at 6 a.m. by Willow and Weston begging me to get out of bed. They told me the presents had all been divided and they'd already played with the toys in their stockings. All of the toys in their stockings are from mom and dad and can be opened before mom and dad get out of bed. The intention is to keep them occupied for a while to give the adults more time to sleep. Their stockings also include a couple of small boxes of cereal to keep mom from having to fix breakfast.
The kids all got the toys they most wanted, even mom, who got the purse she'd wanted. We all had new clothes to wear, DVD's to watch and games to play. It was a very good Christmas morning. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen came to see us and bring gifts for the kids at about 11 a.m. They were trying to beat the snow storm we knew would be coming our way, so they were only able to stay for a short time.
Our original Christmas Day plans included driving to Benjamin to see Grandpa Virchow and Linda and then driving from there to Springville to spend the rest of the day at Grandma Virchow's. The snow kept us at home all day. It was so nice to spend the day relaxing, taking a nap, and enjoying all the new gifts.
At about 4 p.m. Kenyon decided we should probably go to Grandma Virchow's after all. The weather had cleared up for the most part, so the drive wasn't too bad. We had dinner with Kenyon's family and the kids were able to decorate their gingerbread houses. The kids also got to open presents from Grandma Virchow and one of their cousins. At 10:30 we decided to head home and opened the door to find a winter wonderland....3 inches of fresh snow and it didn't look like the snow was going to stop any time soon. We had to get a push to get going, but then we were able to get home an hour later instead of the usual 30 minutes. I was just happy to be home safely.
